4YK On The Way!
We believe that the 4YK classroom should be a happy and safe place where a child can acquire respect and sensitivity towards the needs and feelings of others. The program should help each child to express feelings and thoughts effectively and develop a life-long love of learning.
Scheduling The 4YK class meets three full days each week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 7:45 - 3:12. Breakfast and lunch are offered at a nominal cost. Parents are encouraged to apply for free or reduced meals. Before and after school care are available. Parent/teacher conferences are scheduled at the end of the first quarter. Additional conferences can be requested by the parents or the teacher at any time during the school year. Requirements 4YK students must be four years old on or before September first of the school year. Grading There is no formal report card for the 4YK. Portfolios and checklists will be used to track student work and progress. "Childhood is a journey - not a race."
